Quentin Snider Decommits From Louisville

When Quentin Snider originally committed to Louisville way back in 1997 in August of 2011, we warned against getting too excited over the word of a young man who had yet to begin his sophomore year of high school. But Snider never wavered in his commitment to the Cardinals, and just weeks before starting his senior year at Ballard, was still considered to be U of L's floor general of the future.

Or not.

"I would love to be a cardinal but at this time it's time I think it's better to look at other options to make sure it's the right fit for me," Snider announced on Twitter Wednesday evening.

His decommitment was confirmed by Fox Sports recruiting analyst Evan Daniels.

Louisville fans have watched Snider emerge from a skinny youngster with vast potential to one of the top-rated point guards in the class of 2014. He jumped from a fringe top 50 player when he originally committed to a certified five-star prospect last summer.

You always hate to lose elite talent, especially when it's hometown elite talent. Still, it's safe to say that U of L has more than enough firepower both on campus and headed to campus to cushion this blow.

Best of luck to Quentin in whatever he choice he makes going forward.
