The Cards Are Headed To The ESPYs

A source with the program has confirmed that Louisville basketball will be represented at the 2013 edition of ESPN's ESPY Awards. The show will air live on ESPN on July 17 at 9 p.m. ET from Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

We won't know which category or categories will feature the Cardinals until the full list of nominees is revealed, but there are a few of them which seem more likely than the others. Best Team, for instance, would seem to be a more likely fit than Best Women's Tennis Player.

There's also a chance that Rick Pitino could earn a nod as Best Coach or that the women's basketball team will get some love in the Best Upset category. Either way, we know that at least a handful of the men's basketball team will be in the building.

The full list of nominees comes out on Tuesday.
