The Louisville women rolled to a 91-49 win over Missouri State Tuesday night, but the bigger story was the scary incident that took place early in the first half of the game.
With U of L leading 7-2 less than three minutes into the game, Cardinal senior Antonita Slaughter collapsed near the Cardinal bench and was taken off the court on a stretcher. U of L spokeswoman Kim Pemberton told The Courier-Journal that the Christian Academy product apparently had a seizure, but was awake and answering questions from doctors at Jewish Hospital.
Jeff Walz talked about the situation after the game:
All you need to do is look at that image on the C-J's story to know how scary this looked at the time. Our thoughts are with Antonita, who will hopefully be healthy and back on the court soon.
