Rick Pitino confirmed during his weekly press conference Tuesday that Louisville will square off against regional rival Indiana in the 2014 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The two college hoops powerhouses have not met since 2003, when the eighth-ranked Cardinals topped No. 19 Indiana, 95-76. The Hoosiers own the advantage in the all-time series, however, 10-6.
Though there's still much to be decided, Louisville's non-conference schedule for 2014-15 is shaping up to be loaded. The Cards are almost set to open the season against Minnesota in Puerto Rico, then there are the games against IU and Kentucky, and a to-be-named opponent in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
As with football, any schedule complaints will be quickly silenced after this season.
