Louisville Point Guard Chris Jones Day-To-Day With Sprained Wrist

Andy Lyons

Louisville point guard Chris Jones is dealing with a sprained wrist that could force the junior to miss some games.

While wearing a brace during U of L's charity event Thursday night, Jones told The Courier-Journal that he would likely miss the Cards' next three games because of the injury. Louisville SID kenny Klein later said Jones' injury is considered more of a "day-to-day" thing and that he would have more information today.

Jones, Louisville's second-leading scorer at 14.9 ppg, has been the Cardinals' starting point guard in eight of their nine games this season, and leads the team in minutes per game (25.8). He also ranks second on the team in assists (2.6 apg).

If Jones were to miss Louisville's next three games, that would put him out for Saturday's tilt against Western Kentucky, as well as next week's contests at Florida International and against Missouri State.

A key, non-season-ending injury in December. Now we've got ourselves a real Louisville basketball season.
