Five-star forward Trey Lyles will announce whether he'll be playing his college ball at Kentucky or Louisville during a 12:50 p.m. press conference at his Arsenal Tech school on Tuesday.
Lyles, the No. 7 player in the class of 2014 according to ESPN.com, will be making the decision on his 18th birthday.
"It's two quality programs," Arsenal Tech coach Jason Delaney told The Courier-Journal of the choice. "They've won the last two national championships. You could choose either one, and you're going to get a great coaching staff. You have Hall of Fame coaches. You have coaches who will develop you as (a person) and (with basketball) skills.
"Either way he's going to go to a great program that he's going to have to earn everything. That's what he wants. He doesn't want anything to be given to him. He wants to earn his playing time, and that's a comment he's made, and that's going to develop him as a person. He's such a great kid that as a coach. I feel fully confident that either one he goes to that he's going to be successful at."
Lyles had previously been committed to Indiana.
As of today, more than 90 percent of the media members who participate in 247 Sports' recruiting crystal ball feature have predicted that Lyles will choose Kentucky. I would be borderline shocked if he didn't.
