Louisville Lands 4-Star Offensive Tackle

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Big news from the world of Cardinal football recruiting today, as Charlie Strong has landed a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Lukayus McNeil out of Indianapolis. McNeil picked Louisville over the likes of Nebraska, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

McNeil becomes the 26th player in the class of 2014 to commit to play football for Louisville.

A three-sport star at Indianapolis Decatur Central, McNeil is also a state champion in the shot put and a standout forward on the basketball team. The 6'7, 270-pound man-child came to high school not even thinking he would play football.

When his recruitment really picked up over the summer, McNeil spoke often about his desire to play college football at a place with a family atmosphere.

"I'm looking for a good school like (Decatur Central)," he told the Indianapolis Star in August. "We get along like a family. I'm not going to get in too much detail, but I didn't grow up with a real strong family. I'm going to look for a school where I feel like I'm at home all the time, like I do here."

We're more than happy to have him join the Cardinal family.
