Louisville fans enjoy the occasional adult beverage. I know it, you know it, business owners all over Atlanta and New Orleans know it.
Jeff Walz also knows it, which is why the U of L women's basketball coach has purchased 2,500 (Note: not 250 as this post originally said) beer vouchers for the first 2,500 over-21 fans to come to his team's game against LSU Thursday night at the KFC Yum Center. It's $2 beer night at the arena, by the way.
"It's a little way to say thanks to all our adults who come and support us," Walz said on Monday. "We're trying to get some of our fans who haven't come out to come out one time and get a drink and enjoy the ballgame and hopefully grab the attention of a few more fans."
The fifth-ranked Cardinals opened their 2013-14 season with a 100-82 win over Quinnipiac on Monday.
