Rick Pitino finally has his 2014 big man. Or at least his first one.
Chinanu Onuaku, a four-star center/forward from the D.C. area picked Louisville over Miami and Georgetown during a press conference at his Riverdale Baptist High School Friday afternoon. The Cards had been pegged as the leader for the 6'10, 225-pound Onuaku for the past several weeks.
Billed as a strong rebounder and shot-blocker whose offensive game needs a bit of polish, Onuaku averaged 8.2 points and more than 10 boards to help lead Riverdale Baptist to the Capital Beltway League title last season. He's currently rated as the No. 65 overall player in the class of 2014 by Rivals.
Onuaku is the younger brother of former Syracuse standout Arizne Onuaku.
