Russ Smith Named To Wooden Award Midseason Top 25

Andy Lyons

The Wooden Award, which is given annually to the best player in college basketball, released its midseason Top 25 list, and a former two-star recruit who enjoys drinking tea at Waffle House and the musical stylings of Lil' B happened to make the cut.

Three Louisville players were named to the preseason Wooden watch list, tied for the most of any team in the country. Russ Smith was not one of those players.

He's there now.

I know we've been dealing with this for a couple of months now, but it still absolutely blows my mind to look at that list and see Russ' name. I don't care how this ends, it's already one of the most unbelievable stories in the history of Louisville basketball.
