Former Cards Duel In UFL Opener

The UFL begins its 2012 season on national television tonight, and former Cardinals Brian Brohm and Cameron Graham will be among those taking the field.

If you were lamenting the fact that Wednesday is an evening hopelessly devoid of gridiron action, allow me to bring you some good news.

The UFL begins its 2012 season tonight and a handful of former Cards will be at the center of action. The league had to ends its 2011 season early because of financial concerns, but a fresh television contract has opened the door for another year.

The 2012 season kicks off in just a few hours and the opener pits the Las Vegas Locos - featuring former U of L quarterback Brian Brohm and defensive tackle Montavoius Stanley - against Cameron Graham and the Virginia Destroyers. The Locos were UFL champions in 2009 and 2010.

Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network. That's the same channel that will be carrying the Louisville/Southern Miss game on Saturday, so this is the perfect opportunity to get yourselves acclimated.
