Louisville fans wanted Charlie Strong and his staff to put a product on the field the community could be proud of again. They did. Charlie Strong and his coaching staff wanted Louisville fans to show that they are 100% excited about and behind this program. They did.
From U of L:
A great response from University of Louisville football fans has established a new school record for season tickets sold for the upcoming 2012 campaign.
According to numbers released on Thursday, the Cardinals have sold a school record 43,432 season ticket packages for the 2012 football season, and the season opener versus Kentucky at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 2, is sold out.
"The response from our fans for season tickets has been tremendous," said Vice-President/Director of Athletics Tom Jurich. "We knew there was going to be a lot of excitement because of what Charlie (Strong) and his staff have brought to the program and with the players we had returning. We knew the demand for tickets this season was going to be great and, as usual, our fans didn't disappoint. I think it's a credit to the great football fans we have within this program, and I'm extremely excited to kick off the season on Sunday."
I'm not saying I can hear "London Bridge" by Fergie playing in my head right now, but it does feel a little bit like 2006 again.
Let's start this season the same way we started that one.
