U of L commit Anton Gill will transfer from Ravenscroft (NC) School to Hargrave Military Academy (VA) for his final year of high school. The news was originally reported by Justin Byerly.
Gill, who was recently named Triangle Independent School's Athletic Conference boy's Player of the Year, led Ravenscroft to a state championship this past season.
U of L assistant Kevin Keatts was the head coach at Hargrave before taking the job at Louisville in 2011. His connection with Academy alum Luke Hancock played a large role in Hancock ultimately becoming a Cardinal.
One has to believe that the eligibility issues U of L has consistently dealt with in recent years played at least some role in this move. At Hargrave, Gill will have no distractions and really no choice other than to make the necessary scores and grades.
