Daily Dose of Encouragement

In my house, my brother and I are the resident eternal optimists, while my dad is the resident extreme pessimist... my mom just wants us all to stop yelling SO LOUDLY at the TV.

Anyway, my dad sent me an email today to talk more about the big week we had last week, and to look for more of the "Kay encouragement" that helps him stay positive and helps the team win (so yeah, ultimately, you're welcome for that Big East Championship because I told my dad it would happen with 30 seconds still left on the clock in or game against Cuse last week).

Anyway, here's your encouragement. These are not empty words, these are things I really believe.

I definitely have more encouragement and of course, now you really have to listen since in a time of great strife, I correctly predicted that we should remain calm and be confident. This time, I'm even more serious. Something big happened in New York that changed not only Peyton, but a lot of other things. Seems like every single player made the tiny adjustment they needed to make in order to make their game better (i.e. Kyle learning the shot fake and then step inside the three point line for an easy jumper, Russ steal intensity without fouling [and also passing], Swop all around amazing). In addition, I think Pitino showed a great ability to make important adjustments. At the beginning of the game Saturday things didn't look great, but Rick called a timeout and the game changed entirely. I don't mind having offense that is rough if our defense stays impeccable. And a crucial thing has changed and that is that shots are falling when we actually need them to. That was especially easy to notice in the Marquette game, but really in all our games this week. Every time we left the door open a crack, a team would peek in, but instead of giving them a bigger open, as we have for most of this season, we slammed the door. It's great to watch. Feel confident. Those four games weren't a fluke - this is the team we knew we had all year, with all of the pieces coming together all at once at just the right time. I think the first weekend will be tough, but we can definitely do it. I sincerely believe that there isn't a single team in this field we couldn't beat. Believe it.

And in closing... is there a high res version of any of the pictures of the team celebrating?
