2012 Big East Tournament Bracket Update

New, comments

This was supposed to auto-post this morning. No idea why it didn't. First conference tournament games haven't even tipped off and I'm already on tilt.

Louisville's victory over Pittsburgh assured it of a first round bye in the Big East Tournament and a seed of no worse than seven. While finishing as high as fourth is still technically a possibility, it appears almost certain that the Cards will head to New York with a seed of five, six or seven, with one of the last two being more likely than the first. Good news for folks who have to work and wouldn't be able to catch either of those first two games on Wednesday.

Anyway, here's how we're looking heading into the final week of the regular season:

--Georgetown gets the final double bye by virtue of owning the head-to-head tiebreaker with South Florida.

--Cincinnati gets the No. 6 spot because of its head-to-head victory over Louisville last week.

--Seton Hall (8-9) is a half-game ahead of West Virginia and Connecticut (7-9). The Huskies own the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Mountaineers for the nine seed.

--Pittsburgh owns the head-to-head tiebreaker with Villanova, and thus is the No. 13 seed.
