We Are Now Accepting Nominations For The 2012 Card Chronicle Man Of The Year

It's that time of the year again.

We are now taking your nominations for the 2012 version of the highest honor there is in the city of Louisville: the Card Chronicle Man of the Year.

Please remember that the man of the year does not have to be an actual man, or even an actual human ("No Pants" was once a finalist). I just refuse to go politically correct with the title because, well, because I do. It's tradition. You don't mess with tradition...unless it's gross or something. Like eating cereal with spoiled milk on Christmas Eve. Although I don't know how that would ever be well-received enough initially to become a tradition. Anyway, the nominee doesn't have to be a man or a human.

This year's winner will join that elitest of elite Derby City fraternities, which includes:

2007 - Tom Jurich
2008 - David Padgett
2009 - Vacant (I still say it should be Billy Gillispie)
2010 - Charlie Strong
2011 - Charlie Strong and Preston Knowles (tie)

The nomination process will end on Thursday, and the voting for this year's winner will begin on Friday.

Let's hear 'em.
