Louisville forward Angel Nunez has decided to transfer and will leave U of L at the semester break, Rick Pitino told WDRB's Eric Crawford on Sunday.
"With Wayne (Blackshear) and Luke (Hancock) ahead of him, he wanted to find a place where there will be more playing time, and all of our coaches support his decision," Pitino said.
Nunez appeared in 12 games for Louisville as a freshman last season, averaging 4.6 minutes and 2.0 points per game. He has been hampered by a severe concussion this season and has not appeared in a game. He will have three full seasons of eligibility remaining.
We heard so much this offseason about Angel's work ethic and the likelihood of him playing a significant role on this team, so it is a little disappointing to see him go. Best of luck to Angel wherever he winds up.
