Both Siva and Gorgui are currently down in Miami at Palm Meadows Training Center. Siva recently worked 4F in 49.13 and Gorgui went 49.17. If things keep going well for them, they will most likely run their first races at Gulfstream Park.
Russdiculous' most recent trip to the track was a 6F run going a slow 1:15 flat at Santa Anita. It was his first recorded work since his last race, so we may expect him to run again within the next few weeks!
Pitino does have a few other horses of note to his name. Goldencents is in a partnership with a few other guys, and is most likely the best horse in his stable. At Delta Downs (in Southwest Louisiana) he won the Delta Downs Jackpot, and now has career earnings of $722,000. He is a very cool horse, and is now on the Derby Trail. Sorry guys, but he has a much better Derby shot than Russ.
Madison Ave. Jo Jo may be my favorite horse in his stable for all the wrong reasons. Named after his wife Joanne, she is trained in New York by Kiaran McLaughlin. Kiaran is a fantastic horsemen, so good actually that he is one of the trainers for Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum of Dubai.
Jo Jo's sire is the Japanese stallion Utopia, who was a very good racehorse overseas. Unfortunately, Jo Jo is not a good racehorse. In fact, she is awful. In her first race, she finished 14th out of 14. In her second, she finished 10th out of 10. The descriptions of her races are small and brief: "Outrun" and "faded." She has $340 to her name.
Jo Jo is running next on December 13 at Aqueduct in Race 2, at 12:58. On the Brightside, after finishing last in her two races she can only be better!
