The Big East plans to announce that East Carolina will join the league as a football-only member in 2014, and that Tulane will join the league in all sports that same year.
So in 2014, nine of the 14 football teams in the Big East will be programs that were once members of Conference USA.
I'm not really sure what else to say here.
The ECU move makes sense since the Pirates are consistently at or near the top in mid-major football attendance...but Tulane? Let's not act like Bourbon Street is going to explode the week the Green Wave hosts San Diego State.
This feels like the Leaving Las Vegas moment for the conference: load up on whatever you can before you die.
It's really sad.
