Couple of events planned for Saturday's game

First,

Fans are encouraged to visit the Budweiser Street Fest between the Central Avenue tunnel and Papa John's Cardinal Stadium at 1 p.m. to see the Governor's Cup on display. Fans can get their picture taken with the trophy and are encouraged to stay for Card March, which will begin at 1:15 p.m. in the Green Lot A.

Following Card March, enjoy the rest of Budweiser Street Fest and grab some great giveaways from sponsors like Rally's, Thornton's, Texas Roadhouse and Sun Tan City. Fans may stop by the PPG Porter Paints booth for free face painting.

It doesn't say if pants are required for the Governor's Cup photo op, so I'm going to go ahead and assume they are not.

Second,

Trace Adkins, a country music artist, is scheduled to sing the National Anthem before the University of Louisville's football game against Marshall at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The game, which will kickoff at 3:30 p.m., is sold out.

Adkins made his country debut in 1996 on Capitol Records in Nashville, Tenn. Since then, Adkins has released seven more studio albums and two Greatest Hits compilations. In addition, he has charted more than 20 singles on the Billboard country music charts, including the Number One hits "This Ain't No Thinkin' Thing," "Ladies Love Country Boys" and "You're Gonna Miss This," which peaked in 1997, 2007, and 2008, respectively.

I always thought race Adkins was the guy who sang "That Ain't My Truck." I found out today that this isn't true. I have no idea who Trace Adkins is.

Can't wait for that anthem, though.
