Purvis to announce decision Friday; Louisville back in the mix?

Upper Room Christian (N.C.) superstar Rodney Purvis plans to announce his college decision at a press conference on Friday.

What's interesting about this news is that his head coach says Louisville is one of the four schools the former Cardinal commit will be picking from.

Rodney Purvis, one of the top high school basketball players in the country, plans to announce his college decision on Friday.

The 6-foot-4 guard is expected to choose from among N.C. State, Louisville, Connecticut and Virginia Commonwealth, according to Raleigh Upper Room Christian coach Avie Lester.

When last we heard from Rodney, he and his mother had released a "final list" of Connecticut, Memphis, Missouri, N.C. Central, N.C. State, Ohio State, Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia. This was on Aug. 30.

It would seem that this is a two-horse race between UConn and NC State, but that doesn't make Louisville magically re-appearing in Rodney's final four any less intriguing. Maybe he just wants to make it look sexier, maybe the Cards are a legit player, maybe he just feels bad about the way everything went down.

All I know is I'm happy not to see Missouri mentioned.
