DaMarcus Smith vs. Brandon Bender

I know this is a storyline we were all sick of five months ago, but seeing these two - who once referred to each other as "family" - going at it on Twitter has been sort of surreal.

First, there was last weekend when Bender tweeted that he hoped "Dumb-Marcus" had a good time watching his new school (presumably Louisville) "get its ass handed to them." Smith then later followed up with a tweet about how listening to the wrong people was the biggest mistake he ever made and was the reason he was in his current position.

Then the two went after each other last night, after Bender had apparently made a remark about Smith's new girlfriend.

The worst mistake I made was to associate with Brandon Bender! But the best decision I've made was to completely cut him off! #lessonlearned

I don't know what to make of that. I sure don't. The tweeting you see now, it's hard to even take its measure. It's not that I'm afraid of it. I always knew you had to be willing to die (inside) to even do this job. But, I don't want to push my chips forward and go out and meet something I don't understand. A man would have to put his soul at hazard. He'd have to say, "O.K., I'll be part of this world."
