Another Bloggin' Rick Pitino Thursday

Today, Louisville's highest-paid blogger takes a look at West Virginia and Villanova, and then gives a couple quick updates on his own players.

Zach Price:  Has not practiced due to a serious concussion he got early in the morning at his dormitory.  I was hoping to see him compete against Gorgui.  It will have to wait until our games in the Bahamas.

Peyton Siva:  Stands out as the leader of this year’s team.

Gorgui Dieng:  Scoring, passing and offensive rebounding.  Missing is shot blocking and defensive rebounding.

Kyle Kuric:  Has improved his mid-range game.

Chris Smith:  Steady but needs to do more athletically.

Chane Behanan:  A few fundamentals away from being a good freshman

Mike Marra:  Steady but still has a long way to go.

Stephen Van Treese:  Improved but needs to be a consistent threat on offense.

Russ Smith:  Sprained his ankle and missed practices.

"The Bullet":  Played well and was a big threat from the outside.

Tim Henderson:  Has a pulled groin and has not been 100%

Interesting to hear Pitino come out and definitely say that Siva is this team's leader. Also, it appears "Elisha Justice" is now gone forever.

Pitino offers up a few more personal thoughts, including his belief that Bruce Pearl will be an NBA head coach one day, and that Tiger Woods will break Jack Nicklaus' record for most major victories.

Because of the trip to the Bahamas next week, the next Pitino update will not be for another two weeks. I seriously cannot wait for his DePaul breakdown.
