U of L hasn't officially released an updated depth chart for next Thursday's season-opener against Murray State, but ESPN"s Andrea Adelson reportedly got a sneak peak and shares some details.
Of particular note:
--Will Stein is your starting quarterback. In the last update it was Stein "or" true freshman Teddy Bridgewater.
--Victor Anderson has gone from stand-alone starter to "or" status with sophomore Jeremy Wright. This would fall in line with the reports that have Wright showing out for the better part of fall camp.
--Anthony Conner and Jordan Paschal are still your starters at corner. True freshmen Andrew Johnson and Charles Gaines are listed as Conner's backup, while redshirt freshman and wide receiver convert Stephan Robinson is listed directly behind Paschal.
--Adelson takes the time to point out that Titus Teague is not listed. This is obviously bad news, but it being specially noted has spawned a fresh Mike Rutherford crush. Have you heard about my birthday deal at Fan Outfitters? Yeah, let's do something some time.
--B.J. Butler is slotted third at defensive end, presumably because of his knee injury. One would assume this means he's likely to miss at least the Murray game.
--Will Savoy is starting in Butler's place. If Butler is third, I would assume Malcolm Mitchell is the immediate backup here.
--Tackle Roy Philon has also been banged up and is currently listed as second-string behind Randy Salmon. This actually is not a change from the last update.
--Via Adelson and the U of L sports information department: "21 redshirt and true freshman are listed on the two-deep. As many as seven could be getting their first collegiate start against the Racers. Last year, 10 true freshmen played for the Cardinals."
--Six days until actual football. Seis dayos.
