DaQual Randall, a three-star linebacker out of Palmetto, Fla., has committed to Louisville according to Rivals.com. Randall chose U of L over Rutgers, Mississippi State and Iowa State, among others.
The 6-0, 225-pound Randall finished his junior season with 86 unassisted tackles, four interceptions and a sack in seven games. He's advertised as a run-stopper with great instincts who is capable of playing inside linebacker at the next level.
"I really want to play linebacker in college, middle linebacker," Randall said recently. "I feel comfortable there. I feel like that is the best place I can help my team at. The best part about playing linebacker is getting to hit someone."
In order to make that happen he may need to add some bulk.
Louisville was the first BCS program to offer Randall a scholarship when they did so in April. He is the 11th member of Charlie Strong's recruiting class of 2012 (Teko Powell is no longer listed as committed by Rivals) and the second from the state of Florida (again, this excludes Powell).
