If you have a scholarship offer from Charlie Strong and haven't committed to Louisville yet, you are now officially on the clock.
Devontre Parnell, a four-star cornerback out of South Carolina, became the third member of the class of 2012 to commit to U of L in as many days when he did so Wednesday morning. If landing one of the top players in the country at a position of need wasn't sweet enough, Parnell was a guy Joker Phillips and company had invested a considerable amount of time and energy on, and one that many people believed would end up a Wildcat.
Parnell also chose Louisville over N.C. State, Vanderbilt, Illinois and Wake Forest, among others.
Parnell, who is the 19th best corner in the country according to ESPN, recently received the following review from a South Carolina-based recruiting site:
"It is easy to see why Parnell is the state’s top corner. He is pure cover corner and there are not many of these anymore. He has good size. He has good speed. His ball skills are great. He is even a playmaker on special teams. He has everything you look for in a corner. If more schools were to watch this kid workout, then I think his offer list would double just like that."
What a huge
week half-week for Louisville football.
