Your friend and my favorite, Chicken Knowles was a participant at the recently wrapped up Kevin Durant Nike Skills Academy, which is for the best wing players in high school basketball. The camp was covered by ESPN and Slam, which both gave the rising senior high marks.
ESPN:
• PF Danrad "Chicken" Knowles (Houston/ HCYA) had some impressive plays worth mentioning. The extra long and lean forward can face up and hit jumpers to the arc, start the break with a bust-out dribble and is very good in pick-and-pop situations. He has a ton of potential and has an early list of Arkansas, Houston, Baylor, Texas Tech, Missouri and South Carolina.
Slam:
Danrad "Chicken" Knowles, 6-10 senior power forward, HCYA (TX), KD: A home-schooled Houston-area product, "Chicken," the player probably closest to the camp namesake’s size, build and style of play, is a comfortable shooter with deep range, a defensive presence due to his length and a decent finisher around the basket, despite badly needing to add bulk to his slender frame.
When Fuller lands this kid you're going to see a meltdown of absolutely epic proportions. Drunk posts will be written, drunk videos will be embedded, houses will be burned, black jerseys will be thrown; pray this doesn't happen. Pray.
