There's a new No. 18 in town

The updated U of L football roster reveals that Titus Teague is no longer the only Cardinal bearing the unthinkable burden of carrying the #18 jersey tradition on his back.

Redshirt freshman kicker Matthew Nakatani will now be proudly supported by yours truly at home games this fall. Nakatani, the son of jockey Corey Nakatani, was a standout at Shelby County before walking on at U of L last summer.

Here's his bio:

Shelby County High School
Played for Todd Shipley at Shelby County High School... second all-time in the KHSAA record book with 14 consecutive field goals made... named honorable mention All-State by the Louisville Courier-Journal and Associated Press as a senior... team finished 9-3 as a senior and led the team in scoring... nailed 8-of-10 field goals as a senior with a long of 42 and was a perfect 5-of-5 during junior campaign with a long of 42... graduated in the top 10-percent of his class.

Son of Michele Dallase and Corey Nakatani... father is a horse racing jockey... born 3/25/92... major is sport administration.

Nakatani becomes the first kicker to don the 18 since Mr. Arthur Carmody.

Hope you've been working, my man.
