Larry Jefferson commits to Louisville

This is what we in the biz like to call a "happy post."

Larry Jefferson, a highly-recruited and versatile standout from College Park, Ga., announced Wednesday evening that he will play football for the University of Louisville. He had scholarship offers from Auburn, Georgia, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina, among others.

Jefferson, who stands 6-5, 218-pounds, was listed by some recruiting services as a potential defensive end or linebacker at the college level, but he will likely play tight end at Louisville. It's a position where he could have a high impact by his second year on campus, as Josh Chichester will be a senior during the 2011 season. and Stephon Ball and Nate Nord will both be juniors.
