Multiple sources are claiming that Louisville assistant Steve Masiello has accepted the head coaching position at Manhattan. Adam Zagoria stated on Twitter that the deal is for five years.
Manhattan had previously offered the position to Long Island head coach Jim Ferry, but Ferry's salary demands proved to be too high for a contract to be reached.
The question now becomes who takes Masiello's place. Jeff Goodman tweeted that Richard Pitino, who spent the past two seasons under Billy Donovan at Florida, could be headed back to U of L. The No. 2 candidate for the position? You guessed it, Marquis Teague.
Whatever happens, I'd expect it to be announced relatively soon.
