Class of 2012 standout Andrew White had been scheduled to take his official visit to U of L on Oct. 14, the night of the Cardinals' first Red/White scrimmage. But the 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Virginia told Jody Demling that it works better in the schedule for his family to make the trip this weekend.
"I am looking forward to it," White said. "I have been to Kansas and last weekend I went to West Virginia. I still have a long list of schools, I haven’t narrowed anything down yet on paper. But in my mind, I know what I am looking for."
White is a consensus top 60 player in the country who believes he would fit in well at Louisville.
"I kind of noticed I would really fit well into coach Pitino's system," White said after watching some U of L film and talking to Pitino and assistant coach Kevin Keatts. "I saw a lot on film, and some things that I have researched, and a lot of opportunities for shots because they can break people down and get into the lane.
"I want to just see the campus and meet some of the other people on staff and see what the expectations for me my freshman year would be."
Though White won't be there, class of 2012 stars D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera and Robert Upshaw will be among the guests at Louisville's scrimmage/midnight madness festivity on the 14th.
