Anthony Conner is walking

This is news that trumps anything which took place at the Yum Center this evening.

Good news on University of Louisville cornerback Anthony Conner. The senior who suffered a broken neck last Friday night against Rutgers and underwent surgery on Monday got up out of bed and took his first steps since the injury today, according to U of L football spokesman Rocco Gasparro.

Conner’s injury is career-ending, but his chances from recovery appear to be excellent and if all goes well he could be leaving the hospital within the next week or so.

As sad as it is to know that Conner's football career is over - especially since he was having a pretty tremendous senior season - this story could have had a much, much sadder ending.

I've heard from several people that the other seniors have made it known that they're dedicating the rest of the season to Conner. Not sure of the specifics, but rest assured balls will absolutely be played off for the next five weeks.
