Big East coaches also pick Louisville third

Each garnering a total of 209 points, Syracuse and Connecticut are the co-favorites to win this year's Big East title according to the league's coaches. Louisville was No. 3 and brought in a trio of first-place votes. No. 4 Pitt was the only other school to receive first-place recognition, garnering a single vote.

As was the case with the media poll, Pittsburgh guard Ashton Gibbs was selected as the league's preseason player of the year, while UConn center Andre Drummon got the nod for rookie of the year.

Peyton Siva, who was named to the All-Big East second team, was the lone Cardinal to receive individual recognition.
