Kyle Kuric gives back

As if we needed one more reason to love him, Kyle Kuric has started "Kyle's Korner For Kids" (awesome), a group dedicated to helping Kentuckiana children in need.

Last July I had the privilege of spending a day at the Indian Summer Camp. The kids there were enjoying a fun summer day despite battling cancer. Many were in a battle for their lives, but Indian Summer Camp provided them experiences and friendships that otherwise would not have been possible. This experience only reinforced to me how lucky I am. Many people recognize me for playing a game I love. The people of Louisville have provided me with incredible support and appreciation. I can never repay that to the fans, but I can pay it forward to others. My goal is to gather items identified by non profits on their wish list and deliver them to the agency to help brighten the lives of area children. You can help by donating gently used or new items. We will identify easily accessible drop off locations and then deliver all the items collected to the agencies in need. There is nothing better than helping children in our community thrive.

The group's first planned event is gathering Halloween costumes, comforters, sheets and diapers to donate to The Home of the Innocents. Those items will be collected at next Tueday's home soccer game against South Florida, and anyone who donates will receive free admission. You will also be able to donate the items at the Red/White basketball scrimmage on Oct. 22.

For more information, visit the group's web site and Facebook page.
