Former U of L baseball player Isaiah Howes identified as Covington shooter

An insane twist to an already heartbreaking story, as, according to WAVE-3, former Louisville baseball player Isaiah Howes has been identified as the shooter of former Louisville football player Daniel Covington. The passenger in Howes' car whom Howes accidentally shot in the hand has been identified as Howes' brother.

Covington was found shot at about 2:30 a.m. last night on Second and Liberty, and was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at University Hospital with gunshot wounds to his left arm and torso.

Howes, a graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park High School, was a member of the 2007 squad that advanced to the College World Series.
