Vic Anderson cleared to play

With Bilal Powell's availability still unknown, the Louisville football team received a huge lift today when it was announced that junior running back Victor Anderson has been cleared to play and will see the field this Saturday at Syracuse.

"Vic Anderson is back this week and he practiced today full pads, full contact the whole deal," U of L offensive coordinator Mike Sanford said. "He’s ready to go. Jeremy Wright, Blayne Donnell -- all three of those guys would play if Bilal isn’t able to go. Obviously the most experienced of that group of guys is Vic, but we feel very good about Jeremy Wright and Blayne Donnell."

Anderson, the Big East's Rookie of the Year in 2008, has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury.

There was no announcement on the status of quarterback Adam Froman, who has been seen walking around campus on crutches. There is no boot on his foot, however, so I'd be surprised if Froman doesn't at least start out under center on Saturday.
