The curse of the Art Carmody jersey has taken its toll on many a man over the past three and-a-half years, but perhaps no victim was more adversely affected than former quarterback Zack Stoudt.
I was a Stoudt-supporter (had the jersey) from the moment he stepped on campus and showed off his tremendous arm, but he never really got a fair shake here and announced his intention to transfer in the summer of '09. He landed at Iowa Western Community College, but a slew of interest from a handful of major programs makes it likely that he'll be back playing D-1 football by this time next year.
In 2010, Stoudt has led IWCC to a perfect 7-0 record and a No. 3 national ranking. He's completed 112 of 179 passes for 1,408 yards and 14 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He's also rushed for three scores.
Here are his highlights from the first half of the season:
It'd be nice to have that guy taking the reins next season.
