Zed Evans commits to Louisville

You want good news on the football front? Zed Evans will give you good news on the football front.

The 5-foot-10, 173- pound cornerback out of Seagoville High School (TX) committed to Louisville last night, becoming the third member of Steve Kragthorpe's 2009 recruiting class.

Evans, who also plays running back, is fast. Some might even say crazy fast. He recently ran a 4.41 40-yard dash at the Nike Compound in Dallas, which was the fastest time of any player there.

Evans hasn't yet been evaluated by the recruiting services, but he had already garnered interest from Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Utah and TCU, among others.

Cardinal fans will likely be able to get a taste of what Evans can do when they watch fellow Texan Jacques Caldwell play this (or next) season. The incoming freshman has similar size and speed, and figures to be utilized in a similar manner.

No video on Zed at the moment, but you can spend the two minutes you would have spent watching one thinking about the best Pulp Fiction jokes to make 14 months from now.
