U of L women join men in Sweet 16

It's taken just one season for Louisville head coach Jeff Walz to do something that none of his predecessors were able to accomplish.

Angel McCoughtry scored a game-high 24 points while Candyce Bingham added 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Cardinals rolled past Kansas State 80-63 and into the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.

"We feel like nobody can beat us," Bingham said. "We feel like we're on the same page and we're just clicking."

Louisville had failed to advance past the second round in each of its first 11 NCAA tournament appearances.

Next up for the Cards is top-seeded North Carolina on Saturday. The Tar Heels took care of Georgia 80-66 Tuesday night.

Once more I say: get up Jeff Walz, get way up.
