I really didn't want to do it, but when the hell else am I ever going to have the chance again?
Former Rice High (NY) and current American Christian (PA) point guard Lamont "MoMo" Jones has backed off of his previous commitment to Rick Pitino and the University of Louisville.
"He never went through the whole process," said Tony Bergeron, who now coaches the 6-foot junior at American Christian Academy outside of Philadelphia, where Jones transferred in August.
"He didn't really look at all of his options."
Bergeron added that Jones - who was with teammates at the Gauchos Gym in The Bronx yesterday - does not yet have a new list of schools for which he might play.
This comes as little surprise since Jones had seemed unsure about his commitment since this summer, and especially since Pitino has recently stepped up his recruitment of Seattle PG Peyton Siva.
Best of luck to both Jones and the beat writer/sports editor who land him.
