Baseball team to hold open scrimmage after Syracuse game

This is sort of an interesting way to extend your Cardinal Saturday, plus if we invent a way to lose to Syracuse at you'll get to see Louisville win something.

From U of L:

The University of Louisville baseball team, coming off of its first trip to the College World Series in Omaha, will hold an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Jim Patterson Stadium.

The full-length scrimmage will be free and open to the public.

Fans that are attending the Cardinal football game are encouraged to stop by and see the Cardinal Nine as they are about a quarter of the way through fall drills. The team will take infield and batting practice prior to the first pitch of the scrimmage at 3:30.

Louisville, who finished the season with a school record 47 wins and a top ten ranking under National Coach of the Year Dan McDonnell, returns 17 players from the CWS team.

Rivals.com, which had the Cardinals ranked 7th to end the '07 season, selected the Cards as one of 25 teams to watch in a pre-fall poll.
