The curse of the Louisville pickup game reared its ugly head once again on Monday as Edgar Sosa stepped on another player's foot and sprained his left ankle. The good news is that Sosa is only expected to be out for 3-4 weeks, meaning he should be good to go once "actual" practice begins in October.
This is the same ankle that Edgar sprained in mid-June, so I suppose it's lucky that this injury wasn't more severe.
I've lost count of the total number of pickup game injuries that have occurred over the past five or six seasons, but at this point I wouldn't be opposed to a rule forcing these guys to play in full body armour. Either that or have the world's most highly skilled spotters run alongside each player during the games.
Be safe kids.
