Cards to hold open scrimmage Saturday night

Fantastic news as Steve Kragthorpe announced Thursday night that the Louisville football team will hold an open scrimmage at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m.

Despite Kragthorpe's July statement that all practices after the first three would be closed, the scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free.

I can't tell you how excited I am about this because it was quickly becoming apparent that there was no way I was going to be able to make it all the way to August 30 with only last week's practices to hold me over. My only concern now is getting over this awful summer flu that I'm pretty sure Willie Williams gave to me from the other side of the city.

I'm not making any promises, but Saturday could very well be the public debut of the black Carmody jersey (it's just as glorious as it was in my dreams). The Murray State game seemed like a good no-pressure starter, but this is even better because if there are any problems I can make the necessary adjustments before the season starts.

If you've just started reading this blog, uh, game attire is pretty important to me and get ready for extensive coverage of the subject.

See you Saturday.
