U of L/UK picked up by ESPN Classic

As expected, it was announced yesterday that ESPN Classic will televise the Louisville/Kentucky game live from Commonwealth Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 15.

While this is certainly better than nothing, it's still a shame that what might very well end up being the most well-played Governor's Cup game in recent memory will be the least publicized.

The good news for both teams is that regardless of what happens on Sept. 15, there are still multiple opportunites to pick up signature wins on national television later in the season. UK will have at least six games broadcast on national television, while Louisville now has seven games that will be aired on one of the ESPN family of networks.

The other games that will be competing with UL/UK for viewers that Saturday night include:

Arkansas at Alabama (ESPN, 6:45)
USC at Nebraska (ABC, 8 p.m.)
Boston College at Georgia Tech (ESPN2, 8 p.m.)
