Cards Reach Unprescedented Heights in Baseball America Top 25

The Louisville baseball team garnered its highest national ranking ever today when it jumped 14 spots from No. 22 to No. 8 in this week's Baseball America Top 25.

Of the eight teams headed to Omaha, just one - No. 9 Cal State Fullerton - ranks behind the Cards.

Louisville's Friday opponent, Rice, is the No. 1 team in the country, followed by North Carolina, Arizona State, UC Irvine, eliminated Vanderbilt, Oregon State and Mississippi State.

Just in case you struggle to put two and two together, it looks like U of L is going to have to beat the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the nation if it wants to win its first two games. Somehow I think Brian Bennett is responsible for the bad draw.
