Williams, Padgett and Sosa Earn All-Conference Honors

Louisville forward Terrence Williams and center David Padgett were named second team All-Conference today, while point guard Edgar Sosa was selected for the all-rookie team.

Pittsburgh center Aaron Gray of Pittsburgh was the only repeat selection from last year's first team, which was voted on by the league's head coaches.

Gray was a unanimous selection along with Georgetown's Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert, Providence's Herbert Hill and Syracuse's Demetris Nichols.

While I understand the league's intent is to recognize as many tremendous players as possible in a 16-team conference, I, like Chas Rich, feel that having an 11-member All-Big East first team ultimately detracts from what should be a prestigious honor.

I mean, doesn't it just seem a bit silly when you look at all the names?

Regardless, congratulations to David, T-Will and Edgar, all of whom deserve to be honored for their tremendous seasons.
