Cards Enter Coaches Poll at No. 19; Jump to No. 16 in AP

Louisville entered the ESPN/USA Today Poll for the first time this season, jumping from just outside the poll last week to No. 19 this week. The Cards accumulated a total of 170 points, 11 fewer than No. 18 Oregon.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press Poll continued to show U of L love by bumping them up two spots from No. 18 to No. 16 this week.

Louisville is joined in both polls by Big East brethren Georgetown (9/10), Pitt (12/12), Marquette (20/21) and Notre Dame (22/17). West Virginia was the first team in the "others receiving votes" category in the Coaches Poll, and Syracuse also received votes in both polls.

Ohio State was the top choice in both polls this week, with UCLA and Kansas rounding out the top three. Kentucky received 12 points in the AP Poll and eight in the Coaches, while Indiana picked up 15 votes from the AP but not one from a coach.
