Palacios injures knee, may redshirt

OH MY GOD

Juan Palacios injured his right knee this morning during the team's second practice of the season when 7-foot center Terrance Farley took a charge and ended up falling into the senior.

The early diagnosis is a sprained MCL.

Just how severe the injury is will be determined later, but Pitino said he hasn't ruled out redshirting the three-year starter.

"I've seen it all with him for the past four years and this looks like the worst (injury) of all," Pitino said. "If it's a real serious sprain where he's going to be out two months, I'll redshirt him."

JDP has been a notoriously slow healer since he started dealing with injuries after his freshman season, and with the emergence of Earl Clark, redshirting would probably be the correct call if in fact this injury is as serious as it appears. Even with the added depth Louisville has in the post this season, losing a player as versatile and experienced as Palacios would be a huge blow.

And the crying starts about four hours earlier than expected.
