It's Kragthorpe

Louisville has a new head football coach, and he has a funny name. Yeah that's the best I could come up with.

According to numerous reports, current Tulsa head coach Steve "Agro" Kragthorpe will be named Bobby Petrino's successor sometime in the next 24 hours.

In his four seasons at Tulsa, Kragthorpe led the Golden Hurricanes to a 29-22 mark and a Conference USA and Liberty Bowl championship in 2005.

Tulsa had lost 21 of 22 games, and had won just two contests in two seasons prior to Kragthorpe's arrival. The Golden Hurricanes finished 7-5 and appeared in the Armed Forces Bowl in 2006.

If the shades don't sell you,
then I don't know what will.

Officially, Tom Jurich has said that the list of potential candidates is "very short" but did has not identified any specific coaches.

"I'm going to rely on my gut a lot," Jurich said. "I want somebody that's gotten a proven track record. I'm not going to talk about those names."

If you're slightly upset at this point because the name Steve Kragthorpe isn't really getting your proverbial juices flowing, then please try and remember how you felt when you first heard that Bobby Petrino would be taking the reigns at Louisville.

Welcome to the family Coach Krag.

More on this once it becomes "official."
