Game Thread: #3 West Virginia at #5 Louisville

There's nothing really left to say, it's hard to believe this game is finally here. The University of Louisville is playing tonight for a chance to have a legitimate shot at a college football national championship.

Let's get this.

Site: Papa John's Cardinal Stadium

Time/TV: 7:30/ESPN

Favorite: Louisville by 1

Series: West Virginia leads 6-1

Last three meetings:
U of L 9,  WVU 7 (1990)
WVU 36, U of L 34 (1993)
WVU 46, U of L 44 (3 OT) (2005)

Defining Numbers:
Louisville's 15 game home winning streak (second in the nation).
West Virginia's 14 game overall winning streak (second in the nation).

Game will be a success if: Duh

Game will be a horrible, horrible failure if: Double duh

Anxiety Level (1-10): 10. A feeling of anxiety comparable to March of 2005, but at the same time it's very different. Hard to explain.

Pregame Meal: Papa John's. We're all about symbolism when it comes to food.

Poll Results: Likely not the ideal sample audience:

With 111 votes tallied, 80% of you believe Louisville will win, and 20% are taking the Mountaineers. Thanks to all the little drops from heaven that voted.

Predicted star of the game: Mario Urrutia. Super Mo goes off and gets the entire nation talking about him tomorrow morning.

Pregame quote to make you hope we Spurrier it up: Obviously a plethora of fan quotes to choose from, but we're going to respect the class that Rich Rodriguez and company have showed in the days leading up to this game and refrain from using something from the mouth of a 12-year-old.

Official CC Prediction: The atmosphere, the coach, and the stud wide receiver make the difference in a classic.

Louisville 33, West Virginia 30
